With a little luck, we hope you hear something you wouldn't expect to hear, that is, from a musician recording in the 21st century (that's a good thing, right?).

Unlike most acoustic albums in this day and age, Jeff Ray explores unconventional techniques in songwriting, instrumentation, and recording.  He believes that young people must build upon the great music roots of the past, and most importantly, that the listener unlocks the door along with the musician.

"Sunshine City Tree" was written under a big willow tree in Memphis, TN.  "Two Said Goodbye" uses a rebuilt Hammond Organ recorded in the bathroom.  "Mr. God" is all about how religion has stolen spirituality.
